Discover the 3 P's of Life: Purpose, Passion, and Profit - A Guide to Meaningful Living

Is life too short, or is it just long enough to fulfill your unique calling?

While many say life is short, I believe that it's exactly the right amount of time for us to explore and realize our true potential. A life's journey can be framed through three powerful categories:

-Purpose

-Passion

-Profit

Everything we do - our routines, relationships, and investments- falls into one of these three buckets. Understanding this can transform how we live and where we focus our energy.

Purpose: The Core of Our Existence

Whether or not you follow a particular faith or philosophy, most would agree that everyone has a reason for being. Some might refer to this as a calling. Discovering purpose may take a lifetime, but it's the most important pursuit. Purpose gives meaning to our journey. Even if we don't fully understand it until later in life, every step that we take toward fulfilling our purpose brings clarity and fulfillment.

Passion: What Sets Everyone Apart

Passion includes our skills, interests, hobbies, and personal desires. It's the most unique expression of who we are. Yet, in the hustle for profit, passion is often left behind. This is ultimately a tragedy because passion is often the key to joy, creativity, and innovation.

Profit: The Necessary Driver

Profit is where most people spend the majority of their lives, working, earning, and exchanging their time for money. While profit is necessary, it often dominates to the point where purpose and passion are neglected. The key is not to eliminate the pursuit of profit, but to align it with our purpose and passions whenever possible.

The Goal: Alignment

Success in its richest form is found when all three P's align. This can occur in two different ways:

1. Life Balance - Each category is given equal attention and energy.

2. Singular Alignment - One area of your life satisfies all three categories
   

Example: Imagine a person named Jasmine:

Jasmine grew up in an underserved community and always felt that her calling in life was to give back to her community.

-Her purpose is rooted in empowering young people from similar backgrounds to overcome generational obstacles.

-Her passion is storytelling. She's a content creator. She loves producing videos, public speaking, and creative outreach.

-Her profit comes from entrepreneurship, running a multimedia company that creates inspiring digital content for non-profits and schools.

Every day, Jasmine has the opportunity to tell powerful stories that inspire other people, support youth development, and earn a sustainable income. This is a 3-P alignment.

So What? Why Does This Matter?

I encourage every person I meet to explore their purpose, passion, and profit dynamic. Ask yourself:

-Where is most of my time being spent?

-Am I neglecting one of these areas?

-Are there changes I need to make in habits, people, or priorities?
